Today we went to Minority Park, which is a cultural center were 50+ minority people groups each have a house or a small village set up so that you can walk through it, see how they live, talk to them, etc. It was interesting but very, very hot and humid so we were dead tired by the time we were done.
Lunch gave us our second wind. We spent the afternoon at the Olympic stadium area...got to see the "birds nest" and "water cube" - those are very cool in person...amazing architecture....took them 8 years to build the birds nest. The first of the two pictures are me in front of the birds nest and then me inside where they held the opening ceremonies.
Tomorrow is VBS for the orphans. I am very much looking forward to that.

When you were watching the Olympics, did you ever in your wildest dreams, think YOU would be standing inside the Bird's Nest?! What a wonderful opportunity! Will be thinking much as you start the VBS for the orphans. I agree with the girls that you should bring a darling Chinese baby home. They are just so precious! My friend, Donna Liu, and I would LOVE to go to China sometime. Donna's brother is well-known in marathon running and he has run on the Great Wall--will you have an opportunity to see the wall?
